Hello, I’m Owen!
I am the creator and operator of Shutter Productions; a professional video production agency. I created Shutter Productions to help the businesses around me better reach their audiences. After much research and many long conversations, I came to understand how vitally important a successfully produced video can be for both the growth and image of a business.
I am a videographer coming all the way from Whitby, Ontario which is about 40 minutes east of Toronto. I traveled out to Kelowna three years ago to attend the University of British Columbia (UBC) to study sciences. Funnily enough, all my life I wanted to become a neurosurgeon. While in the middle of spending more time at school than the average person working 40 hours a week, I found an intriguing contrast between my studies and passions. Then, one day it just hit me that maybe my screaming pull to leave the labs and create more videos was a sign.
I am now happily enrolled in the Bachelor of Media Studies program at UBC Okanagan. In school, I study various forms of digital media that help provoke my creativity and learn skills that are surprisingly applicable to the work I do outside of the classroom.
On a more serious note I also quit my day job back in 2023, fully committing to this business and focusing all of my energy on making it as great as my imagination permits. I have without a doubt had an interesting journey to get here, but I couldn't be happier with how things are going. I can't wait to see what my camera will capture next.
